Aventus Chambers was established by barrister Samreen Akhtar.
Samreen commenced her legal career with the Crown Prosecution Service where she focused solely on prosecuting a wide range of offences at the youth, magistrates’ and crown courts in the West Midlands.
Since joining the self-employed Bar in 2019, Samreen has developed an extremely busy criminal law practice. Despite being instructed in Grade 3 prosecutions for the Crown Prosecution Service, Samreen’s real passion lies in defence work. She has secured both her Duty Solicitor Qualification and Police Station Accreditation and is able to represent clients from the police station onwards.
Samreen’s consecutive rankings as a “Leading Individual” in The Legal 500 are a testament to her hard work, commitment and dedication to her professional and lay clients.
Interested third parties will often seek Samreen’s expertise in Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings.
Away from criminal law, Samreen accepts instructions in personal injury matters focusing on advisory work and infant approval hearings.
Samreen can also offer representation in proceedings before the Dubai International Financial Centre.
Members of the public can also instruct Samreen directly using The Bar Council’s Direct Access Portal.
